Boxes and slipcases

We are planning our first two classes this coming January.

Saturday, January 13, 2018
Clam shell a/k/a drop-spine box

Sunday, January 14, 2018
Slip case

Boxes and slipcases are commonly used to protect books and other objects from sun, smoke, moisture, and abuse.

In the intimate setting of the bindery, students will  construct a cloth or paper covered clam shell box or slipcase to enclose a book of your own choosing. Books should be no larger than 5 x 7 x 1 inches. If you are unsure of what sort of book to bring, please ask.

A tool list will be provided should students wish to bring their own tools, but there will be shared tools for student use. All materials are supplied.

Each class is $75 and limited to 3 students each. Take one or both. Prior bookbinding experience preferred.
